  • America: Painting a Nation

    "America: Painting a Nation" is the most expansive survey of American painting ever presented in Australia. With over 80 works, ranging from 1750 to 1966, this exhibition will cover more than 200 years of American art, history and experience. The exhibition in on view at the Art Gallery of New South Wales, Sydney NSW, Australia, November 8, 2013–February 9, 2014.
  • American Impressionism 2014-15

  • Artists Affiliated with Giverny

    Between the late 1880s and World War I, the Norman village of Giverny, France, was the site of a popular international artists' colony. A notable strength of the Terra's collection is art by Americans who were affiliated with Giverny.

    Artists Associated with Chicago

    The Terra's collection contains works of art by several individuals who had close professional ties to Chicago, whether by maintaining a studio in the area, belonging to local artists' organizations, or sending work to local exhibitions such as the annual Artists of Chicago and Vicinity at the Art Institute of Chicago.

    Home Front; Daily Life in the Civil War North

    These nine paintings from the Terra's collection are included in Chicago's only major exhibition commemorating the 150th anniversary of the Civil War. The exhibition is on view at The Newberry Library September 27, 2013 – March 4, 2014.
